Ted Kennedy And His Legacy

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living, News Edit This

 1aph4.jpg

Ted Kennedy has passed away and many people have there thought about the man and so do I. Many people thought Ted Kennedy would be President one day, but that never happened and he watched as he kept losing family members, but Ted Kennedy was a fighter in the truest sense of the word.

He believe in many things and he was one guy who would fight for it. His tenure in Congress speaks to the volume of his work. He introduced many different bills and always was looking to make things better for the people. Many times he would butt heads with members of Congress and even Presidents, but you always knew Ted Kennedy was doing it because he believed in it.

No one can really define the kind of legacy a person is given after they die, but I am pretty sure Ted Kennedy’s body of work should give him a very good legacy and one everyone in the end should look at and smile for he worked hard at everything he did.

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living, Kids, News Edit This

Last year I lost my mom so this is the second year without my mom and it is still tough, but today I thought I would talk about how much mom’s means to us and some of my favorite TV moms through the years. Many times we forget about how important moms are to us and all they do. Trust me when they are gone you will wish you thanked them more. I would like to wish all the moms out there in the world a Very Happy Mother’s Day as this day is dedicated to you! Now I will show you some of my favorite television moms as I grew up. Some just have a special place or memory for me.

Chrysler’s Bankruptcy Gets A Fast Start

 cf.jpg

Well it seems that Chrysler and the government are wasting no time and getting things straighten out at this struggling automaker as they were in court today. Chrysler asked the court if they could use loans from the government to keep open under bankruptcy protection. This will be a very quick bankruptcy for a couple of reasons the first being the government has their hand in it and putting pressure on creditors to accept this process. Secondly, there are many jobs at stake and if Chrysler would go under the ripple effect could be very massive.

It should take Chrysler around 30 to 60 days to go through this process, but maybe the real question is how will the consumer feel about Chrysler now and will they buy cars from them. Traditionally consumers seem to stay away from such companies so this should be a very interesting test indeed.

Alex Da Silver Arrested Accused Of Raping Four Women

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living, News Edit This

Alex Da Silver a very well known salsa dancer who has been featured on the Fox television show You Think You Can Dance has been arrested on suspicion he sexually assaulted four of his students. According to police all accounts by the women are basically the same so they decided it was best to file charges. Da Silver was also accused of the same type of crime before, but prosecutors declined to press charges on him.

Right now De Saliva is being held on 3.8 million dollar bail and is expected in court on Tuesday. It looks like this story could get a lot worse and more people could come forward. No matter what this is a story that you never want to hear about, but we will see how this all works out. I will keep you posted as this thing moves along.

Twlight Movie A Must See!

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living, Kids, News Edit This

 twilightposter08.jpg

Now I will start this post out by first saying that I am no Twilight fan at all or have ever read the books from this movie. I have a 17 year old daughter named Chelsie who loves the books and movie and recently she got the movie also. Of course she also went to the theaters as well when the movie first came out. I had been avoiding watching it even though she has asked me numerous times to watch it with her. Well, I opened my big mouth and promised this past weekend I would watch it which I did.

My first impressions when I seen the previews on television was I would hate this movie and it would be a big bore, but it was for my daughter so I thought I would keep an open mind. After about two hours of watching the film I must admit it was a very good movie and one that people should see. Now I am not into the vampire or werewolf thing, but it was well written and well acted and I found myself very interested in the storyline. I will never go out and read the book series, but it is a good movie and one that people should check out.

Obama Tells GM, Chrysler To Get Ship Corrected Now

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living Edit This

 145.jpg

It would be hard to think about no GM or Chrysler, but that is a possibility if they do not right their ships very quickly. President Obama has told both companies that he is not giving them a blank check to do what they want at taxpayers expense. The administration even forced GM hands as CEO Rick Wagoner resigned over the weekend. Chrysler has formed a deal with Fiat which is something the administration said needed to be done.

I will admit that both of these companies have made some very bad decisions and you cannot expect the taxpayers to bail them out forever, but the bottom line is it goes much deeper then these two companies. Everyone in the United States is hurting and sometimes I do not think the administration understands this. Losing GM and Chrysler effects so many people that you cannot really afford to lose them. I do not see them going under at all in fact it would not surprise me to see them get bought up by another company.

Recession And The Fall Of Our Economy

 1607_computer_repair_man_carrying_a_computer_and_book.jpg

Around three years ago my dad passed away and last march 29th my mom left me, but they are in a much better place then we are right now. We have unemployment at all-time high levels and state budgets are being strapped even more. The unemployment figures are not really accurate as they do not portray all the people who have given up on trying to find work. Where I live which is in Ohio finding a good paying job is almost non-existent. What has happen to the United States? Why have we gone down so hard so fast? There are many different theories on why this has happen and no point of rehashing old news anyway.

We need to fix the problems we have right now and that burden is on President Obama and he may have broad shoulders, but not widen enough to fix this problem that we have. Jobs are vanishing and being replaced with lower paying jobs. Businesses that we always shopped at are closing up  right and left. Car dealerships that you use to visit now are closing their doors as well. Yes it is bad, but sometimes I do not think people really realize how bad it is.

Homes are being foreclosed at a record rate and it does not look like that will end anytime soon. Plans are in the works to help stem them, but unless you bring good paying jobs foreclosures will keep happening and the American Dream of owning a home is fast slipping away from people.  Now all is not gloom and doom as their is one thing that we all know we are a  society that never gives up and we will weather this storm as well. The real question is when will this storm end and how many people will lose everything before it does end. Only time will tell, but this recession has taken tools on families, businesses and yes even kids. Let’s pray this nightmare ends soon so we can enjoy life instead of waiting for the next axe to fall.

Real Fast Info News And Notes

Lately I have not been posting a lot as I wanted to take care of a few things so I could get on a more normal schedule and change the format of this blog. I have decided to make this blog full of information and some person opinions as well. So here I go so please bear with me. First of all I have seen that many former bloggers have left Today.com which I can understand how they feel and the reasoning behind it. Many times people think they maybe worth more than they are offered and I can understand that and I wish them well. I was one of the people who lost my pay per post money as well, but have decided to stay here and stick it out and get my blogs up on the leaderboard. Was I happy losing that money? No. but the bottom line is they can only help me for so long until I have to learn this blogging and start blazing my own path through the Internet. I am thankful that Today.com gives me this forum to say what I want and earn some money. The money side of it is in my hands and it all depends on what I want to do with it. I have another blog that is on another site that I have been trying things on and have seen some great success which I am moving over here to see how well it works. I think it will do even better here.

Blogging on Today.com can be very profitable if someone wants to put forth the time and effort. As my mom always told me you only get what you put into something and if you want to see any kind of action you need to step up to the plate and create that action. Enough about my rant now back to my blog here and what I will be doing with it. I will be putting videos and other things up to help explain my points and give people inspirations and keep them moving forward in life. This is really all I have to say right now, but do not worry I will be back for some more probably later. I will leave you with an Elvis Presley video called If I Can Dream. It is a beautiful song that I hope will inspire you to great things.

Kelly Clarkson Will Drop By American Idol And Bringing A Guest

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living, Kids, News Edit This

 km.JPEG

Kelly Clarkson will be dropping by American Idol and she is bringing a famous guy with her as well. Clarkson who was a previous American Idol is scheduled to be on Wednesday’s show and her special friend she is bringing is Kayne West. Now I do not really know if they are friends, but it looks like American Idol is booking it that way. It should not hurt ratings any that is for sure.

American Idol this year has suffered a lot in my opinion as the show is not as good as it once was. I really liked the show, but the past few years it has really gone downhill which is a shame. Unless something changes come next season I really cannot see it lasting much longer. It just is not as fresh as it use to be or fun to watch it has gotten downright boring for me and I never thought it would, but it has. Hopefully the rest of the season will be a little better, but so far it does not look promising.

Chris Brown Appears In Court

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living, News Edit This

 cb.jpg

The Chris Brown saga with Rihanna is something that is just simply amazing. You hear so many rumors from Rihanna is back with Brown to they have got married to she is pregnant. In the end I do not think we will ever really know the whole truth, because you really do not know who is telling the truth and who is not. It does look bad for Brown as he was in court to face assault charges and making criminal threats. The arraignment was postponed until April 6 and Rihanna did not ask for a protection order against Brown so that should tell you something.

In the end personally I just do not see Rihanna testifying against Brown and the worse he probably will get is probation especially if Rihanna chooses to stay quiet which I think she will. Many times young ladies just do not want to testify against someone they still love and it looks like that is what I see from Rihanna. I could be wrong, but we will see very soon it looks like.
