Bill Clinton A Senator?

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living Edit This

It looks like Hillary Clinton will be named Secretary Of State in Barack Obama’s administration and rumor has Bill Clinton maybe taking over her Senate seat in New York. Now that would be crazy and something that I would not have ever thought about, but is a very real possibility.

Bill Clinton it seems has his hand in everything and since he can no longer be President anymore he can still be a senator if he wants. This is exactly what makes politics fun. I bet the republicans are really happy with this move if it happens LOL! This is just a rumor I have heard so I guess we will have to wait and see what happens first.

Citicorp Gets Bailout

Citigroup got a government bailout in the billions, which really should not come as much as a shock to anyone. The government not afford to let this company go under as it would reach across many different markets and could sail the economy in a worse tailspin than it is already in.

The Bush Administration has indicated this is not the last bailout that maybe needed before all is said and done. I think these bailouts are needed in certain instances and this was one of them. If Citigroup would have failed it would have been  disaster for the world economy.  I guess we will have to see what company gets bailed out next.

Stock Market Takes A Pounding Again

The stock market took another beating today as stocks fell to lows we have not seen in a very long time. As I watch some of the numbers I was so shocked to see where some of these stock prices are at. Ford was selling for 1.30 cents a share while General Motors was going for 3.10 cents a share. Those numbers are very hard to believe, but that just goes to show that everyone is hurting from companies to individuals.

Most people including myself have never seen anything quite like this. I wish I had some extra money to buy stock right now. I am just like everyone else trying to make it through this as well. People’s 401K and retirement accounts are probably really taking a pounding as I know my is. It is a shame that it has all come to this, but hopefully things will change real soon.Cool

Auto Bailout? Whats Next?

I see that the major three automakers were on Capitol Hill lobbying for a government bailout around 25 billion dollars from what I hear. Now there is no doubt that that industry is struggling and need some kind of help. My real question though is who will be next. The insurance companies could be next than who after that.

I do agree some help is needed, but it has to be part of a plan that will get the big three competitive again. If you do not have a plan to move forward than the bailout is basically just free money which is something I just do not agree with. I guess we will see what happens in the next few weeks.

Recession Will Be Here For A Long While

I never really thought that this recession would last that long, but after what happen this weekend I would have to change by thought process on that as well. Where I live I have seen friends and neighbors lose their job right and left. Luckily for me I make my living online and right now I have more work than I need right now. For others it has no been so lucky. This weekend I found out that even a topless bar went under. My friend runs security at the place and now he does not have a job.

If anyone thinks it will no effect you is crazy. It is hitting all walks of life rich, poor and everyone in-between. It also looks like it is going to last for a very long time which is something that really does not make me very happy, but part of life. Hopefully this will end soon.

Hillary Clinton Sec. Of State?

 clinton.jpeg

The way it looks right now the Secretary  of State spot is down to Hillary Clinton and Bill Richardson. Both would be great choices, but the real question is which one would be best. I would like to see Hillary get it, but I just do not see that happening. The main reason for that is if Clinton wants to run for President in four years being on the cabinet is something that would just not work for her.

I look for Bill Richardson to be named especially if Clinton intends to run in 2012. I guess we will just have to wait and see what she is thinking. Obama would love to have her on his staff, but if she wants to run in 2012 it would probably not be a good idea to have her on board. Only time will tell if it happens or not.

Aretha Franklin Named Greatest Rock Singer

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living Edit This

Aretha Franklin was named the greatest singer of the rock era with Ray Charles coming in second and Elvis Presley finishing third. Now these are results that Rolling Stone did in a poll and will be published friday. I personally think that Elvis should hold the number one spot. For all he did for music in the rock era he should be number one, but it is like anything else everyone has their own ideas.

Franklin deserved to be in the top 10, but number one for me is kind of a stretch if you ask me. I guess they thought she contributed more than Elvis or Ray Charles did. I just do not see it that’s all I can really say about that. Hopefully we will have some other polls and see what other people think about this question.

Everything Obama Beecoming collectors Items

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living Edit This

After his big win Barack Obama maybe getting ready to run the country, but his collectibles are flying off the shelves these days. From inauguration tickets to different types of items it seems Obama is a fan favorite with many Americans and things at least here in Ohio are becoming hard to find. It was a mere two years ago and no one care about what he had to say. Now he will be running one of the biggest countries in the world.

This is how quickly your life can change just as Obama. He led a grass roots effort and it has paid off for him as shortly he will be the newest President of The United States. It will be interesting to see how things go for him and how he handles all the ups and downs of being President. It is a tough job and it will take his toll on him it always does. Just ask any ex-president and they will tell you that.

Disney Pulls Hannah Montana Opening Episode

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living, Kids Edit This

The Disney Channel has decided to pull the first episode of Hannah Montana’s third season as the issue of diabetes plot. The original episode was scheduled to show Hannah’s pal Oliver dealing with diabetes. Feedback from parents and other sources was something that made the Disney Channel decide that it would better if they pulled it and decide at a later date to look at this issue.

I commend The Disney Channel for tackling this kind of a subject. I like that the show would tackle some tough issues with kids, but wish they would have went through with it. The one thing that Disney Channel tends to do is buckle under too pressure and that is probably what happen with The Disney Channel in this case as well. Hopefully we will get to see the issue sometime this season.

Sarah Palin Whats Next For Her?

Published by ken77 under Everyday Living Edit This

ws-palin-next-b-160mf110608.jpg

Sarah Palin has had a rollercoaster ride the last few months some it has been good some of it has not. What is next for Sarah Palin? Right now the Republican party needs a voice and Palin could be that voice that they need right now. Many people feel that she is the person that they need while others do not. Palin will have plenty of time to decide if she wants to run for the President of The United States.

Palin is the kind of person who makes sure about everything she does, I would look for here to form a committee and do some research before she decides if a run is feasible. The key for her though is she needs to make a quick decision so her name will stay with voters for a long time. It will be interesting to see how she goes about it in the end.
